Question: Catalina island – tour or walk ??
Whats a better option once you got Catalina island during the last week of December .. take a guided tour or just walk through the Avalon and explore yourselves.
Answer: Depending on how long you will be there, I say: do both!
Avalon is a nice downtown area you could probably spend the majority of a day just walking around and hanging out on the beach. But there are also other interesting sights and animals on the island ( like Buffalo!) that Im pretty sure you can only see if you take the tour bus.
If you want to see the whole island, do both
