Question: place to rent on Catalina island?

I’m looking to travel to Catalina, but it seems like all the condos and houses for rent require a weeks rental in the summer. Is there anywhere that doesn’t? Also, where is the best place to look for rentals that are not so expensive?

Answer: I think if you want to rent some place for less than a week that is less expensive you will be out of luck. That is their peak season and they have got to make their money in a limited period of time..You might try one of the bed and breakfast places or check the Chamber of Commerce web sites for some local Realtors….

Question: For Catalina Island, do i need driver licence, or passport?

Im planing to go to catalina.
but do i need driver licence or passport?
or i just buy ship ticket?

Answer: all you need is your drivers licences if you plan on renting a golf cart. you can just by a ship ticket or a helicopter ticket….there is no passport needed since you are still in the los angeles area

Question: Can I just get a wood skimboard?

I grew up surfing in California….been stuck in Kentucky for many years….I’m on vacation in Jekyll Island Georgia…it’s too flat, ugly, and murky to even get some kicks boogie boarding….so I figure last resort, I’ll just go get a skimboard…but I really don’t want to drop 400 bucks on a “real” one. I haven’t skimmed since I was a kid and I won’t use this thing again after this trip…is it worth it to even try the “souvenir” type wooden one? I remember nothing but wood ones as a youngster…but they seemed heavier…I dunno, just really frustrated to be at a “beach” and not be able to ride any kind of board!!! thanks in advance

Answer: Of course you can. At Myrtle Beach the average price of them is $40 so whoever is charging $400 is a rip off. Like a boogie board, it is cheaper. If you weigh a lot or are exceptionally rough with it, it may break sometime during the week. But since you already plan on not using it past this week, I’d look at Wings Eagles Pacific other chain beachwear shops and grab you a cheap one.

And yes when we were kids they were thicker and better made than they are now.
